Remember when it wasn’t a target to have 3 fights a year? I know that the medical protocol has changed for the better, but if my memory serves me, the majority of fighters used to go three times a year very frequently. Is this because the roster is ever expanding or guys are waiting to get who they want?
It’s always nuts to me that this guy doesn’t have a nutritionist to make a balanced 170. Kelvin, with his great wrestling, speed, and KO strength, is much more dangerous at 170 pounds because he won’t be dwarfed by the rest of the division.
After Brunson, Holland said he wants Gastelum. If Holland gets it done, that’s the battle to make it happen.
Cannonier, who looks like a good one, is just an unbooked guy rated above him who he hasn’t fought.
Below him in the rankings, Tavares, who is presumably gatekeeping against a prospect, is just an unbooked guy coming off of a victory.
Book the Fridge vs. Cannonier, please.
