May I ask a question that is somewhat off track, but why does the calf kick seem to be making a comeback? I assume that everyone can check easily now, as compared to 5-6 years ago, and that kickers sometimes risk being heavily countered with a hard punch.
Calf kicking when going backwards is even more difficult and risky. Hopefully, this will motivate more fights to step forward vigorously and never backwards.
