  1. I’d like to see him fight some of the best fighters in the world, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. At 155 pounds, he’s a dangerous opponent for everyone, and the UFC uses fighter rankings to determine pay, so accepting a fight with him is a poor business decision for rated fighters.

  2. LW rankings are a load of nonsense. Fiziev, Dober, and Tsarukyan have no business being ranked ahead of Lee, Gillespie, and Cerrone.

  3. He called out Lee, but I believe Lee posted the day before the call out that he’s getting ready to fight soon, implying that he’s near but not quite ready. Perhaps Lee is avoiding Fiziev, or perhaps we will see Lee welcome the war in the coming weeks.

  4. This is similar to the point that businesses that have agreed not to recruit you should at the very least contact you to inform you of their decision. I understand.

  5. They should make a top 20 or even a top 25 list for LW, WW, and FW. In comparison to many others, certain weight classes are extremely deep. Why are flyweight and women’s BW ranked in the top 15 because they have even fewer fighters?

  6. Wait until he is ranked 12 and tries to fight his way up the ranks, but he is called out by a slew of unranked fighters, potentially jeopardizing his title shot. There are only so many battles you can have. It is smart to make good use of them.

  7. If my memory serves me right, Justin Gaethje once said that if you’re coming off a defeat, you should fight a lower-ranked opponent. You battle somebody ahead of you if you’re coming off a victory.
Now I understand why things don’t always work out. However, this mindset makes a lot of sense.

  8. Fiziev-Tsarukyan would be a fantastic match, but I wouldn’t want to see it just yet because I believe they’re both top ten fighters in terms of talent, and it would be a shame to see one of them held back because of a loss to the other.

  9. It’s not just the LWs; it’s a concern in other divisions as well. People simply sit around waiting for a title shot or a higher-ranked competitor.
